Method #1: Repair the Windows registry manually:

  1. Select the Start button.
  2. Go to the search box and type command.
  3. Now, press Ctrl+Shift together from your keyboard and then press Enter.
  4. Now, a dialogue box for permission will open.
  5. Select Yes.
  6. Here, a black box opens with the blinking cursor.
  7. Now, enter the command “Regedit” and then press ENTER.
  8. Now, click on the folder where the QuickBooks backup key and file need to be saved.
  9. Type a backup file name in the Name box (i.e. QuickBooks Backup)
  10. In the export range box, make sure that you pick the “Selected Branch”
  11. Select the Save button.
  12. Use the .reg file extension to save the file.
  13. Here, you can take the backup of the QB related registry.

Method 2: Check if there is any Windows Update available or not:

  1. Select the Start button
  2. Go to the search box, enter the update.
  3. Now, press Enter.
  4. A Windows Update dialogue box will appear.
  5. Check the Update Installation button. Make sure if an update is available or not.
