You can now set up payroll in QuickBooks. The best part is that you don’t need to go for any Intuit payroll subscription. To Se-tup QuickBooks Payroll without a subscription, you just have to follow certain steps and then you are good to go.

To Set-up payroll manually in QuickBooks Desktop:

Point to be noted: The setup process is only for all R8 and above editions and versions. Here, you don’t need any internet connection. Stay offline and then proceed further.

  1. Make sure that you have set up payroll as your preferences.
  2. Now, go to the Edit menu and then click on Preference.
  3. Check-out the left side of the window, click on Employees and Payroll. Now open the Company Preference Tab.
  4. Here, you will see the payroll feature section, go to the full payroll radio button and then click on OK.
  5. Now, go to the help menu, click on QB Help. If you don’t find the option, you can press F1 Tab from your keyboard.
  6. Here, the help search window will open. Here, search for manual payroll and then press the Enter key.
  7. A topic will open “Calculate Payroll Manually.” Make sure that it is mentioned that it is without the subscription.
  8. Now, go to the set, click on payroll radio file. This is specifically for setting up payroll calculations manually. Click on the link.
  9. Once you click on the link mentioned above, the setup process will start automatically.

Point to be noted: For a manual payroll calculation button selection, the zero amount is inserted and quoted by the QuickBooks on all the items that are covered under the tax.

  1. Close QuickBooks Program and then re-open it.
